I am not sure why people feel astonished about all the historical monuments and all those left behind by our predecessors as like the one below, to be an jaw-dropping marvel. Well to state a fact, when homo sapiens extensively roamed our earth around 70,000 years ago they wouldn't have known that they would survive these many years to evolve into Laptop pocking Smarty-pants.
